Multiple ways to go about this. If its a smart TV, do you have access to the Parsec (internet based) or Moonlight app (LAN based)?

Ryzen 7 7800x3D -  Asus RTX4090 TUF OC- Asrock X670E Taichi - 32GB DDR5-6000CL30 - SuperFlower 1000W - Fractal Torrent - Assassin IV - 42" LG C2 - Windows 11 Pro

in addition to these. Steam Link is an option too if your SmartTV has an app for it, or if you have a Android/FireTV/Roku dongle

edit: this may be a more preferable option as it wouldn't require any additional software on your PC.

You didn't answer my question before if those apps are available. Parsec, Moonlight or Steamlink. If so, you'd pair a controller to your TV.

Can't comment on latency though, that's going to be up to your network. If Wifi is involved, it can range from playable to unplayable. Tradeoffs of this setup.

these days? local network streaming latency is hardly noticeable IMO. if you can plug directly in to ethernet you'll have best experience obviously, but AC or AX wifi will work just fine too, since it's all local network.

as for the controllers, you'd pair them directly to your TV or Android/FireTV/Roku dongle

That's where the Steam Link app on your TV comes in to play. you just need to make sure 'Steam Link' is enabled in your steam settings then everything can be done/initiated from the app on your TV.

These local streaming apps basically just mirror your PC screen and forward the controller inputs; it's not like a full RDP session or anything. Meaning you won't be able to stream and use the PC at the same time (at least not the same user account)

Far too much faith in the average joe to have an optimized wifi network.

Nvidia Shield runs Android, so you should be able to install Steam Link on there if you have it sitting around 👍

edit: though it is sad to hear that Nvidia has basically abandoned their part of the shield and its streaming abilities. (it's just the GeForce Now streaming that they'll be pulling soon, and only the shield specific free titles at that from my understanding.)
