Budget (including currency): $1,000-1,200 USD

Country: United States

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Minecraft, Counter Strike 2, Farming simulator 23 seem to be the main ones that I can think of right now

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): This pc will be mainly used for gaming since I don't do much right now.

Monitors: I would like 1 or 2 monitors not sure how many but I know 1 for sure.

Why are you upgrading? a Ryzen 5 1600, GTX 1080, 16GB of DDR4 3200MHZ and I can not remember my motherboard.

Peripherals: I am hoping to be able to get a new keyboard, mouse,  and a headset.

Hey, welcome to the forums.

Depending on specs, "1 or 2 monitors" could be a couple hundred bucks or it eat up your entire budget. Similarly, there's a vast range in the amount of money you could spend on a new keyboard, mouse, and headset.

For people to be able to give you good suggestions, I think that at the very least you need to nail down the display spec you want. Figure out what resolution and refresh rate you want to game at and pick a monitor with those specs at a price you're comfortable paying. Then we can start to try to put together a build to drive that display with the budget you have left.

Corps aren't your friends. "Bottleneck calculators" are BS. Only suckers buy based on brand. It's your PC, do what makes you happy.  If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. Watch this space for further truths people need to hear.

it's not clear to me whether OP wants to keep his motherboard or any of his existing parts. i assume he wants to to upgrade from the 1600 and 1080 but he could conceivably keep the RAM, board, drives, and PSU.

True, but for his budget I would lean toward a drop in 5800x3d or similar and then a GPU, especially if he wants multiple monitors. Not to mention peripherals.

He isn't in the budget for a whole new system with monitors IMO.  Smart shopping reuses the motherboard and RAM at least, no?

Peripherals are monitor, keyboard, mouse, headphones.  You did say you wanted 2 monitors though?

I do not have keyboard, mouse, headphones, speakers, etc on my list.

Do you want one without monitors?

Edit: I changed to better monitors.

Question I checked the website from G.Skill and Ripjaws comes with Intel XMP instead of AMD EXPO and the CPU on AMD's website says only can use a max of 5200, does 6000 work?

CPU listing for RAM only lists the JEDEC base spec.

There should be an EXPO Ripjaws.  XMP will most likely work as AMD supports both.
