Streaming Audio Recommendation

TylerD321

Hello Friends,

My cousin's headset died and he was asking me for audio recommendations. I am hard of hearing so clearly sound is not something I am able to answer well.

He is looking to spend 250-300 USD. He would like to have good audio for playing games and a good mic on a boom for microphone. I do not know anything about audio so lets hear some recommendations. Good sound in and good sound out - wired ideally.

Hi, $250 seems like too high of a budget for a gaming headset. I can recommend this one, the MASSDROP X SENNHEISER PC37X, really good audio and a mic, with the only downside maybe being that its wired.

Here is a good video review of it in action. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=spktoWVAlTU

Qoute my reply if you want me to answer back.

The goal is to have 250 for like a headset, a mic, and a mic arm for desk.

I totally dint read through it all, my recomendations would be the following:

  • For the headset: same as the one I had already linked. $80
  • Microphone: Audio-Technica AT2020USB+ $90 + AT2020 Shock Mount $13
  • Boom Arm: Rode PSA1, $100

If it goes a little over budget you can always buy a cheaper boom arm, I just know the pain of having a cheap squaky boom arm so Im recommending a safe bet.

Qoute my reply if you want me to answer back.

I mentioned the audeze Maxwell to the cousin and he ordered them on the spot. They should arrive sometime in January due to back order. He will do a mic and boom later!

Thank you everyone for the suggestions! (You too @Yua)
