Best mid priced 120mm aio, silent, price,no light

gasolin

Despite not being super fan of aio's i have ordered a Deepcool LE300 Marrs 1x120mm to change my system (corsair 5000D airflow tg white)

I already have 6 fans but only 1 exhaust fan the usually place next to the i/o panel, to get a little more cooling (just because i can) i wanted more exhaust fans, with 2 or 3 in the top, they would try to blow hot air out of the case (mabye not so much from my cpu 12400), with a dual fan aircooler trying to blow air across the cabinet horizontal, i have always felt that this is conflicting with each other, like driving on a bridge with the wind blowing heavely to one or the other side and makes it a little harder going in a straight line

120mm aio in the rear next to the i/o panel, first priority is low noise pump, being able to turn of light if there happen to be light on the cooler and price.

DeepCool has antileak and with a Thermalright assassin 120 se .

Since i ordered just around the time limit and because of christmas, i got no track and trace number, so i can order from another place to get a different aio if needed

But do i need to cancel the order and buy a different aio ?

Im noy going crazy with that upgrade so 100 euro, dollars, pounds is out of the question, 60 ish euros is what i wanna spend (+ a 5 pack artic p12 pst pwm fans and shipping)

Deeocool Gammax LS320/L120 V2? sure its have RGB frills on it, but you can disable it by plugged it in on 12V ARGB header on the motherboard or swap the fan with newer and better Deepcool FK120 or noctua Industrial PPC fan for maximizing the static airflow pressure.

Please don't buy a 120mm AIO. They are heatsoked so easily and are terrible price to performance wise.

Get yourself either a 240mm/280mm aio or a nice big tower cooler. The 5000D fits big tower coolers that will leave that poor 120mm AIO in the dust.

As far as fan orientation, 3 in front (intake), 2 on top (positioned at the end of the case, (exhaust))  and 1 in the back (exhaust)

Doesn't matter, doing normal use,multitasking i have under 30c 820-835 rpm, games i think it's under 50c

I don't need more cpu cooling, what i want is more exhaust fans, more heat out of the case, i have often wonder with an air cooler and it going one way and  top exhaust fans going another way  (not optimal for me) why there generally is so little places for exhaust fans and also a little stupid with 6 intake fans and only 1 exhaust fan

Still recommend an air cooler, if your cpu only puts out that amount of heat an air cooler will be more than adequate, quieter, cheaper and longer lasting. Air coolers are, essentially a block of shaped metal, so their shelf life is indefinite. AIOs, because of the nature of them, have a 5-10 year shelf life, and can be shorter depending on the use case, time used and pump etc

120mm AIO are just useless, a decent aircooler will perform better with less cost and better lifespan and reliability

Either go 240mm+ or an aircooler

Plus the Corsair 5000 ios pretty big, you got ample room even for a 360mm AIO, knowing that you 12400 don't need that much cooling anyway

Why do you want me to get an aircooler or even a 240mm aio ? It defeats the purpuse of getting a small aio and more fans for exhaust

What makes you think i don't have an air cooler ?

just that everything a 120mm aio can do, an air cooler does better for cheaper. If you move up to 240mm, there are some differences that present themselves

I didnt think you had an air cooler as youre asking about recommendations for cooler

Also more fans for exhaust doesnt always help depending on placement. Adding some fans as intake can increase air exhaust due to higher pressure and no interference from mesh or closed panels can exhaust air that way

I don't understand what's you're trying to achieve...

Best airflow => Aircooling

Best thermals/noise => Big AIO 240+

120mm AIO have no place except in old style closed cases (my ole big Antec case for example with an H60)

Thermalright assassin 120 se mixing it all together deepcool, thermalright AND i do have a single tower  DeepCool air cooler

DeepCool i ordered but still have some time to cancel it

More exhaus fans, if 1 exchaust fan was enough 1 intake fans would also be enough but it isn't to get a good airflow

Why are you always so cryptic and confusing ? 😛

If you have a TR PA120 a 120 AIO will just be worse

Now if you've bought 3 coolers and can't return them, well that's kinda stupid, your problem

OMG

Should i worry about temps when going from an air cooler (under 30c) to a 120mm aio ? Spoiler alert 99c is 100% safe

https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/safe-temp-for-my-new-i5-12400.309830/

What makes you think i just bought 3 air coolers i can't  return, non of them are coolers made (released) last month, all of the mentioned coolers are several month old, i could have had them for many month

Look, if you've ordered the DC AIOand it's a 120mm, that will perform worse than your TR PA120.

If you're going to keep using the PA120, then the DC on exhaust will not benefit you at all, and will actually decrease your results since it won't be connected to your CPU and thus the radiator will be an exhaust barrier.

If your entire goal is, as you stated, to increase exhaust, then flip some fans on top to exhaust.

As the others have stated, in response to your request for advice, you should not get the 120. So, return it. If you're going to keep it then why did you ask for advice? You haven't given any reason why your choice helps your computer and, as has been stated, it doesn't.

If you are confused, please state what it is you need clarified.

I've been using computers since around 1978, started learning programming in 1980 on Apple IIs, started learning about hardware in 1990, ran a BBS from 1990-95, built my first Windows PC around 2000, taught myself malware removal starting in 2005 (also learned on Bleeping Computer), learned web dev starting in 2017, and I think I can fill a thimble with all that knowledge. 😉 I'm not an expert, which is why I keep investigating the answers that others give to try and improve my knowledge, so feel free to double-check the advice I give.

why the f... would i use an air cooler + an aio ?

I don't wanna have  top exhasut fans when i use an air cooler

Vertical the top fans would try to suck, blow hot air out of the case while an air cooler tries to move air horizontal, atlest the mid and a little of the 2 other fans would mess with the attempt of the air cooler to cool my cpu

There is not much free space for 2 or 3 top fans to take some of the hot air from my gpu out of the case, since there is a 2 fan air cooler in the way

No, I'm telling you that it's a bad idea to do that. Exhaust ports generally don't have any filters and unless you have a tiny case with no other place for a fan or AIO, no one will suggest that you put an AIO there for exhaust. It produces worse results, especially since the air cooler is blowing the hot air from the CPU into it. There is literally nothing an AIO that is not connected to a heatsource can do better than just throwing away the AIO and using the fan from it for exhaust in the position you're suggesting. If you want to exhaust the air from your air cooler, put a fan in the back.

First of all an aio can be intake or exhaust

Second why the hell do you keep blabbing about an air cooler on the cpu and a aio as a rear exhaust fan ?

Second why the hell do you keep blabbing about an air cooler on the cpu and a aio as a rear exhaust fan ?

Your grasp of English is clearly preventing you from understanding. What is your native language?

I've been using computers since around 1978, started learning programming in 1980 on Apple IIs, started learning about hardware in 1990, ran a BBS from 1990-95, built my first Windows PC around 2000, taught myself malware removal starting in 2005 (also learned on Bleeping Computer), learned web dev starting in 2017, and I think I can fill a thimble with all that knowledge. 😉 I'm not an expert, which is why I keep investigating the answers that others give to try and improve my knowledge, so feel free to double-check the advice I give.

My phone's auto-correct is named Otto Rong.🤪😂
