I don't have any spare thermal paste on hand and I'm afraid that if I mess it up it'll be out of commission for a while, something not idea during the lead up to finals week 😛

Alright, then try disabling DOCP and run ram on auto while testing. Oh you got Asus... Disable armoury crate in bios as well as uninstalling it in windows using the official uninstalling tool. It's the root of all evil. Evil! I tell you (armoury crate). https://www.asus.com/supportonly/armoury crate/helpdesk_download/

Also Ai overclock should be disabled. It's a great tool for testing, but will not be stable 24/7.

Heya, fellow nerds! New to the forum, so I apologize in advance for any oversights or stumbling about I may partake in.

I'm running a computer that I built myself around January, so-dubbed FATSO as it is the largest computer I've ever had (despite it not being that big, it's just a Corsair 4000D). TL;DR, I've been running into issues booting the computer up from cold, after logging in the computer will suddenly just freeze, the screen goes black, and it reboots and acts like nothing ever happened. It's incredibly inconsistent and always pops up every so often when I'm least expecting and I haven't been able to recreate the issue.

I have done no overclocking besides making my ram go to 6400 MHz. I don't even have any fancy lights besides the rgb fan that came with the CPU cooler.

I've made sure all my drivers are up-to-date, including updating my BIOS. I have no bloatware installed (including Armory Crate). Nothing seems to have helped as far as I can tell. It went from a great gaming/work PC into a great gaming/work PC with a minor hiccup in the mornings. I still get great performance in-game and otherwise the computer has been fine.

To anyone able to offer help, thanks in advance!

Can you see anything in event viewer under system? If not then maybe try to reseat the CPU. One of my coworkers had the same issues as you and after much troubleshooting he tried reseating the cpu and that somehow fixed it.  Almost same setup B650 and 7950X3D

Just auto'd it and let it go for an hour

CPU averaged ~60°C and GPU ~75°C

Also ran the AMD GPU stress test, similar results

Auto'd using XMP or EXPO though. If youre running RAM on 6400 using XMP you might have some small issues while running an AMD CPU, though im not too sure, usually EXPO enabled RAM running at around 5600/6000 is sweet spot for AMD chips

I'm not sure how to check that. In BIOS it says "docp I" for the ai overclock tuner

I'm disabling DOCP and set it to 6000 MHz and will keep y'all posted on whether it helps, and Armory Crate has been uninstalled since I built it. Thanks for now!

Don't set it to 6000.. Set it to auto and run dram voltage and everything on auto. Disable armoury crate in bios if you haven't done it
