Intermittent BSODs

GER_T4IGA

OS: Win 11 x64 (upgraded from Win 10)
CPU: Ryzen 9 5900HX
Mobo: Asus x570 Crosshair Impact  (BIOS unkown, will go find out🛠️)
RAM: 2x16 GB G.Skill Trident Z RGB 3600MHz 16-19-19-39 (DOCP enabled)

GPU: EVGA 😞 2080Ti  (driver 536.99)

Storage: Samsung 980 Pro 1TB
PNY XLR8 CS3030 2TB (swapped for AORUS NVMe Gen4 SSD 1TB, issue persists)

Aquacomputer quadro and a bunch of watercooling shit in an Ncase M1 with medium to bad airflow.
Sysnative BSOD collector is still running. Will update this post once it finishes.

Failures happens at irregular intervals and the BSOD screen dissapears so fast I can't even read the error code. It happens intermittenly, mostly while playing games (Anno 1800), Sometimes it crashes while browsing (just watching youtube). I ran furmark and prime95 for 30 minutes to check if it is an overheating issue but it didn't crash. I swapped out the SSD I thought was overheating because it was unavailable multiple times just before a crash. Had some crashes happend while just downloading steam updates, not actively using computer.
Still have to test if the problem persists with stock clocks. Reset GPU for now and will reset RAM at next reboot when checking BIOS.

How can I reinstall windows while keeping my files nowadays? I would like to try that

There is the option to "reset windows" and keep files and programs. However, in my experiance it has never fixed anything.

IMO, you should backup your files to a spare HDD/SSD and then reinstall windows from scratch with a new/clean windows installation media.

Common build advice: 1) Buy the cheapest (well reviewed) motherboard that has the features you need. Paying more typically only gets you features you won’t use. 2) only get as much RAM as you need, getting more won’t (typically) make your PC faster. 3) While I recommend getting an NVMe drive, you don’t need to splurge for an expensive drive with DRam cache, DRamless drives are fine for gamers. 4) paying for looks is fine, just don’t break the bank. 5) Tower coolers are usually good enough, unless you go top tier Intel or plan on OCing. 6) OCing is a dead meme, you probably shouldn’t bother. 7) "Bottlenecks" rarely matter and "Future-proofing" is a myth. 8) AIOs don't noticably improve performance past 240mm.

Would you generally recommend this as a trouble shooting step fitting the symptoms I described or just as the only sensible alternative I have if I want to "repair" my windows install as I am suspicious of its integrity.

Sysnative BSOD Collection app is stuck at Waiting for SystemInfo for more than 30 minutes. Don't know what to do

I never recommend using the "reset my PC" option to try and fix windows, because as I said above, In my experiance it never fixes anything.

I do recommend that you try reinstalling windows (using a new/clean windows installation media (USB stick)). While frequent blue screens can be hardware related, the ones your describing seem very random and therefore I think it is unlikely that they are hardware related. If it's not fixed after that, then we know it is a hardware issue.

Go to C:\Windows\Minidump and check if you have any minidump files. If you do, go back to the Windows folder and copy the Minidump folder itself to the Downloads folder (You can use the desktop if you don't have OneDrive syncing files). Zip the copied folder and attach it to a post. Please follow the instructions to the letter as Windows doesn't like you messing with files in this location.

Looking at the Error code it seems that some operation regarding RAM failed. I will try and revert my RAM to 3400 and see if it helps

This one looks like storage, but if you have more dump files then that would be helpful. Storage and RAM can look a lot like each other because of the page file.

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately there for only one dump file (when I look at the date now it is from march. Anything else I can run? SysnativeBSODCollectionApp gets stuck at "Waiting for SystemInfo".

SMART data on the primary 980 Pro 1TB says the drive should be healthy though. I have a drive at hand I could swap out.

I pulled back the RAM to 3400 from 3600 DOCP profile. I played games yesterday night for a few hours without any crashing.  If the issue doesn't come back I'll call it on the RAM ...

SMART data on the primary 980 Pro 1TB says the drive should be healthy though.

The health rating has always been irrelevant as it's up to the manufacturer how much it has to fail before the status changes. The percentage is just how much of the warrantied read and write you have used up, it's not actually related to the health of the drive (You can infer from it, like if it's at 20% after 6 months something is really wrong). You have to be able to read the SMART parameters below the general info (When looking in CDI), but with modern SSDs this is also useless because they removed almost all of the useful parameters. Most of the parameters are considered informational, not critical so you have to know which ones are important. I've seen a few hundred faulty NVMe drives and I have seen less than five show any signs of issues in SMART. NVMe first started having these "new" stats, but new SATA SSDs also often have the new crap SMART.

Let's move the page file to a different drive. When you BSOD, it dumps all the data to the page file and then creates the dump file on the next boot. No dump files usually means an issue with the storage and if the drive has crashed when it's trying to dump the data you don't get any dump files.

If the page file is on something stupid like an external drive or something you know is sketch then that could be the root cause. You want it on C:, but if it's already on C: then move to hopefully start getting dump files.
