Replacing Logitech pro cables

Hi,

I've been using a Logitech Pro headset for a couple years and I am having issues with the both cables it came with. One of them is meant for mobile use (it has a micro on it) while the other one (braided) is meant for desktop use. Both cables are having connection issues and it's a shame that it happened only after a couple years. I was wondering if I could replace them (I'd need recommendations) or if I should just get another headset (in which case I'd like recommendations for something between $100-200, wireless or not, that's more durable so I'd like replaceable foams for example).

Thank you.

For cables I have gone through A LOT of crap products and companies.  In the end I found that Hart and Periapt audio cables provide the best product at a reasonable price.  I'm unfamiliar with what the cable requires for that headset but you could always contact either company and ask them to custom make you one.  Don't let the word "custom" scare you off, I've done it with both companies and they just charge what the cable would cost if it's one they normally carried in stock.

Though, I don't know if this is the solution you are looking for, figured I would just give my cable experience as a possible solution.

The difference between the two of them being:

Hart offers a modular system that can adapt to different connections and cuts down on cost when you have multiple headphones.  Also the cabling is lighter weight so less chance of noise transmission through the cable (IE: rubbing on a jacket zipper).  I just recently noticed that they offer a thicker cable option now as well.

Periapt offers a one and done solution, made to exact specifications and they use a thicker cable that offers more of a heft feel to it.

Neither is better than the other and both are equally priced.

Audio go Brrrrrr

They seem to use normal TRRS (4pin 3.5mm) on both ends so, getting TRRS AUX-cable works as replacement as long as you don't need volume or mute control (or the mic in the second cable).

If you change the cables often you might have strained the connector on the headset. The best solution would be to take them apart and solder in new connector, knowing Logitech it's doable but in the quite difficult area. You can also try contact cleaner but most likely you need to give a little lift to the contacts (just get sewing needle or pin and bend the sharp end 90-degrees from <1mm, just so you have a tiny corner in it, and CAREFULLY feel around in the connector for the contacts and when you find one, get the tiny corner under it and give a a slight, just barely touching them, lift).
