Low FPS Question

Go to solution Solved by SDSConnor,

Found the problem. long story short. My cousin plugged the HDMI cord into my MoBo and not the VCard.

I have a nvidia 1070 that i havent played a game on in 10 months. My buddy wanted me to get escape from tarkov. When i got it going my frames in the menu and game were super low. I then went to geforce experience and had it adjust my settings. No change. Then i went to a game that worked well in the past. Dying light. And it also has low frames. I updated the drivers from the geforce experience program. And used malwarebytes to clean up anything that may cause my issue.

What else could the problem be?

List the rest of your hardware specs. Set performance within the nvidia control panel (experience) if you haven't already,  and turn off v-sync in both that and the games you play.

If you need other performance tweaks within the nvidia app I would be happy to provide them.

Potentially the GPU being thermal throttled. Check temps with FurMark

FurMark at 1 min had 31 degree Celsius at 6 Frames per second.

I ran the most recent game i played. Dead Space Remake. it ran normal. i turned off vsync in the nvidia control panel in 3d settings. ran dying light and it had now change. then reran the FurMark and now the temp is max 64 degrees still at 6 frames.
