Hello . Iam planning to upgrade my retro computer ram from 4gb to 8gb . Now inside has 4 ddr2 sticks running at 533 mhz this is one gigabyte per module . The new set is 4*2=8 gb running at 1066 MHz this is the fastest speed of the ddr2 . Now my question is my processor will support this ? . I have pentium extreme edition 965 . I searched in the official intel site and unfortunately it doesn’t say something about max ram capacity or max ram speed . Please help

What is the motherboard and chipset? I believe the memory controller was still on the chipset for these.
