I'm trying to find a somewhat elegant solution to have more than 4 displays without just buying another expensive GPU. I currently have a GT730 2GB that I would love to use, but since the GPU is currently not supported I would have to run old drivers on my 2070 super. I don't know if there is some sort of basic driver I could load? I am open to other suggestions as well. My goal is to be able to drive 5 monitors as well as use one output from my 2070 for a VR headset.

There are several suggestions without buying additional GPU:

1. You can daisy chain from one monitor to another either by HDMI/DP cable if your monitor supports it

2. If your CPU has integrated graphics, it can be used as additional port for your monitor (not for gaming/VR/ intensive usage obviously)

P.S.

I don't know about your current RIG specs, but if you are using CPU from the last 5 years that has integrated graphics, chances are it performs better than your GT730

Afaik that is only supported on DP (not HDMI), using Multi Stream Transport (MST), which requires a monitor that also has an output. Likely more expensive than buying a second GPU. It also does not get around the maximum monitor limit of the GPU.

Ah yes, thanks for pointing that
I was dozing and forgot to re-check my post on that

OP @Lilthrasher, assuming you're using DP (at least version 1.2) for your monitor that doesn't directly support daisy chain because it has no 'Output DP', you can use DP MST Hub/splitter to split connection to multiple monitors

This doesn't bypass the NVIDIA 4-display limit, which is what the OP is trying to overcome.
