"Reverse" Audio Mixer?

1 minute ago, Psittac said:

Is there anything like a mixer, something that takes multiple inputs and mixes it together for a single output..... BUT does it in reverse?  I want one input, a DAC and be able to mix the signal to multiple amps.

I want to say you're looking for some kind of "multiplexer" but... what's your source input signal? If the source input signal doesn't already include separate audio channels, whatever you feed it into won't be able to do much with the signal...

I just want to take a single ended RCA signal and split it between amp's.  Basically I just want a switcher but those are all 4+ in and 1 or 2 out.  I want 1 in 4+ out and for a brief moment I thought that a mixer would do this but it's multiple in and singleish out

Audio go Brrrrrr

It's a splitter that you're after.

I mean at the simplest you just cut some cables and wire everything in parallel. That'll result in some impedance mismatch but it might very well be insignificant.

Well I've found simple physical splitters but I'd love to have some kind of selector.  I could probably even get some custom cables from Hart audio cables or Periapt cables, but I don't like the idea of splitting the signal.  It might be what I have to do though.

If all you want is a "dumb" switch box to re-route the signal between different outputs, tada!

Well it seemed you wanted the signal to multiple places simulataneously, if you want a switcher than any passive switching box will do, it's just a switch so it works both ways.
