memory Random Out Of Memory issues

I have been getting a lot of OOM errors, and I cannot for the life of me figure out the issue

 

Just now before posting this, I had it happen again, but noticed memory usage was only 62%, applications open were Garry's Mod (+SRCDS Server), Visual Studio (In Debug at the time), Visual Studio Code, Discord and some other smaller stuff running in the background like file explorer, steam and ShareX and Opera One

It happens a lot when I am not programming or in debug mode so I feel that is unrelated, it can sometimes happen when just playing a game without anything much else open 

 

Sometimes it feels like 1 application has a freak out and triggers a chain reaction of other applications

 

Whenever this happens, all 3 monitors do go completely black, with one of them sometimes showing a white window outline, I don't know how to describe it any better

Bumping this, just had this happen again probably the worst case - Started a sharex screenshot and all screens started blinking and eventually led to sharex saying Out of Memory

Running version F9d which is the latest released, was also happening with previous versions

Closest thing I had to (Out of memory) issues that you are having were (Out of video memory or Not enough video memory) but was with my games. My video-card had enough memory to run the games. The games required updates to fix.

 

I wonder if you have bad ram. Get memtest and run it. Make a bootable flash drive with memtest.

Have you set a static page file size?

 

Out of memory can mean there is not enough page file to set up the addressable space needed, even if you have well less than 100% physical memory usage.

Ran memtest for about half an hour (Have some work to do, so cannot go much longer), no errors were found during those 30 mins

I think I had around 16gb of pagefile set, I did reset it though sometime after making this post as I was thinking maybe I had too much, but maybe now I am thinking it was too little? Currently set to system managed size

System managed is good - it’ll expand if needed. Having it set that way ensures you won’t get a page file cause oom error.

Opera was good up til 2013, then it got bought out by a Chinese company, since it is closed-source, I wouldn't go anywhere near it.  Since you seem to like alternate browsers, AND you are into coding, why not go with a web browser that has been around since 1994, and has been open-source for all of that time, and will continue to be?

 

Mozilla knows how strange the web has become with trackers and other tools used to identify your computer across many websites, and is developed to protect you from this.  They know when it started and they know how to block it.  Although, their funding does rely on millions of dollars from Google, for keeping the default search engine as that.  Mozilla doesn't have to take that money, but neither did HP when it ONLY sold Intel brand processors because of a contract with them around 2008.  I always thought it was completely odd how nuch more Intel was purchased over AMD when amd had the superior designs at the time, even SIX-core processors, back in 2010.  Money corrupts morals is the point.  Not for everyone, but for most.  Overall Mozilla is the last standing chance we have at a healthy internet without invasive trackers and whatnot.  Apple is also helping, but I abhore their repair restrictions and artificial software locks, and removing previously existing hardware support in new versions in a (effective) attempt to force hardware upgrades, which just needs to stop at this point.

 

Well that got off-topic, I was discussing web browsers.

 

And that's not even the main discussion, I just figured it is important to know opera is probably an unsafe browser to use.

 

Instead of running memtest during the day, start it at night and let it run for as long as it can, eveb well into noon the next day if it isn't finished.
