ecc ram wityh 5930k

i have a server that used to run a bunch of VMs (2697a v4) with 64gb ecc ram, now that it doesnt need all those cores, i need fewer higher speed cores to host some game servers, i have a 5930k, can i just throw that in the board instead of the 2597a v4 but still keep the ecc ram, will it just run as normal ram without being able to use the ecc features? or do i need to get new ram?

Send a pic of the rams

If they are ecc unbuffered/unregistered then you can use em on a 5930k, if registered then nope

Also if you want a game server youll probs want something faster than an overclocked 5930k, id reccomend a used 3600(x) for 50-60$ and a used midranger b3/450 for 50-70$, x99 is still pricey asf so you can problably cover most of the cost if not profit off the upgrade

here is a picture, the reason that this server isnt consumer platform is simply because i need the PCIE lanes.
