I need help badly cause i dont know what to do what to do anymore

AG9029

Hey guys

I'm fairly new to this but now im at wits end and decided to try asking here.

Just a week ago the games that i play started to drop in frames. I have the geforce overlay and i know the average frames each games but its mostly noticeable when i play cyberpunk 2077. Before everything in the setting is maxxed(geforce experience optimised) but decided to turn ray tracing off anyways (even though it was recommended to be on). The average i get the week prior to this week is around 75+ to low 90 fps but ever since i updated the driver that released on the 30th of October, my frames have started to drop as low as 35+ while highest doesnt even reach 55 frames(doesnt even reach 60fps). Ive looked on reddit who had similar issues and followed the steps that fixed their experiences, which worked for like 2 days until the issues came back. I also tried to lower the settings to the lowest possible settings which the frame stayed the same frames. Now i dont know what to do. I dont know too much about pc yet(still learning about pc)

Pc specs(if this helps)

Mobo: rog maximus xi

Cpu: intel i9 9900k

Gpu: rog strix 2080ti oc 11gb

Psu: corsair 1200hx

Tower: lian li o11 dynamic xl

Storage: boot: intel 2tb, extra: samsung 890 sata 4tb ssd

Cooling: custom water cooled

i'd say just go back to the old drivers? Uninstall current ones with DDU and then download the previous one you used directly from Nvidias website. If it still gives you issues we'd have to look at it again.

Else i guess you made sure that the Temps and clock speeds are still normal?

Ok DDU *in safe mode* and reinstall known to be good drivers.

Do *not* use the geforce overlay.

use msi afterburner instead.

if all fails dont install geforce experience at all.

i know you probably think "i did that already" but the point is do *not* use geforce overlay its buggy as hell.
