My son (the one with special needs) has bought (Amazon: should be here in a few days) Euro truck simulator II Gold (I'll be applying the Eddie Stobart mod. As he has a 'thing' for trucks/transport and ES in particular).  I have a feeling the graphics card in his machine (GT 520 Silent : No fan so suitable for his room) will not be powerfull enough to run this game at viewable levels. I can hear it now "DADddd the pictures all funny".

Seem to remember there are articles (may be  youtube vids) of an upgrade using a cheapish card ( circa $100 [may have been £100]) that takes all its power from the pci-e slot so doesn't need any extra power connections (six pin) and seemed to run okay with a 400w PSU.

Can anyone remember these articles/videos? Or does anyone have recommendations for a similar GC?

Not going to upgrade his PSU so no extra power supply, 400W should be ample.

EDIT :- Oh and as quiet as possible.

750 (ti) are the only ones that as far as i know can run with the 75 watts from the PCIe slot, but most aftermarket ones do need a 6 pin because the 75w from the PCIe slot isnt enought for their overclocks

This will require a PSU upgrade, and is not exactly noise friendly, but powerful:

Not gonna happen, but thanks anyway.

This is excellent for the money, faster than GTX 480 above and is quiet, it will run on 400 watts, but what PSU is it?

I am not going to be overclocking so power from the slot will be enough, is there a card (of that sort of ability) where use of the six pin is not obligatory?
