Diablo II Issue

I'm currently running Window's 8.1 and loaded up DII for nostalgia's sake.

 

The installation seemed to work normally, but when I tried to open it up for the first time I got an error. Did some searching and apparently I just had to switch the compatibility it ran under and force it into windowed mode, which is all fine and it works.

 

The problem is, and the solution I read about doesn't work, I'm stuck playing on a small window. I can't re-size or maximize the window at all and it makes the game awkward to play.

 

Any ideas?

I think you may want to try D2SE . . .

Unless I didn't configure something correctly, it still forces me to play in the small window (trying to go full screen gives me that same error).

If you didn't already add D2 to your battle.net account and download it from blizzard rather then using the cds, it's been updated to function better.
