Hey!

I'm just posting this here to ask for some help and advice, since I might have a problem.

So, full transparency, I was clicking on a spicy link in someone's link tree account, and all the smart lights hooked up in my home immediately blinked simultaneously.

I tapped the link again to test, and it happened again.

Have I just given someone access to my smart home environment? Introduces some kind of virus?

Any idea what this could be?

The url for the link goes to a .xn--cm-jbc domain.

Any help would be appreciated.

Well there is a a possibility that you clicked on something that ran scan of the local network via websockets.

I'd suggest dropping whatever the link was into virus total and see what it comes up with.

Another possibility is simply there IS a backdoor in your home automation hub or whatever is operating as one, and "pinging" it crashes it or something.
