Tride to send someone a pic yesterday & it didn't send. The msg saying check chat optiond comes up, it says resend or delete. It is tring to chat, but RCS is off. Not sure what to do, chat is off, I thought. This happened a while back, I fixed it, but I forgot what I did. Is there more then 1 thing to turn of to disable chat> Online is says go to Mesage settings > Char feature, but I have RCS where that should be.

RCS requires it to be enabled both on your end and the recipient's end. Otherwise Messages will send using a plain SMS or MMS.

If it says off when it is enabled on your device, most likely the other person's device either doesn't have it enabled or doesn't support it (e.g. Android too old or iOS device)

I have it of though & it tries to chat, Just text sends, but if I include a pic it won't send.

For me, I can disable it individually for each person by going to their chat, then going to ⋮> Details. There's a toggle for "Only send as text (SMS/MMS)".

If that is disabled, the text field shows "RCS message" (which should support both images & text over your internet connection). If it's enabled, it should show "Text message" and above that a label that says "Texting with $person (SMS/MMS)". In that case you need a mobile connection.

My texting app that came on my LG does fine,  I force stopped, cleared cache & cleared data. Still, doesn't send pics, my texting app that came with my LG phone will. Google Messages is so much better though, I love the Texting over Wifi.
