upgrades

I have a B360M DS3H MB, i7 9700k and 1660 ti, which used to be enough to play the 2 games that I play which are ESO and city skylines, but Now there is city skylines 2! wondering what the best upgrade would be , until I can afford a new rig?

The game hasn't come out yet, and the devs themselves have said that they are not going to reach their optimization targets at launch, so the listed system requirements that were given originally probably aren't accurate.

 

Basically, I would wait until the game comes out before deciding on what would be the best upgrade.

Yes I pre ordered it and it comes out Tuesday, I hope you are right .

Unless the devs are miles off their optimization targets, your current system should be able to run the game at least. The listed minimum specs are for an i7 6700K and GTX 970 - your system is already meaningfully faster than that.

 

I'd give the game a go, see how the performance is for you, and then come back and ask for advice later. You'll probably also be able to find plenty of information online from other players about how the game performs on their systems, which will give you a better idea of whether your CPU or GPU is holding you back more.

 

That said, since you're on a dead-end platform with no meaningful CPU upgrade in the socket, your GPU is probably where you should look first for an upgrade, if you decide you need one.
