Follow topics?

I'm fairly new here. I did post one thread and I appreciate the replies. Very helpful. When posting I made sure the Follow Topic switch was on. From another thread, I learned that to follow a topic, that means it will be listed in My Activity Streams > Content | Follow. That's good, but I thought "follow topic" meant I would get an email notification whenever someone replied (so I was waiting for emails that never showed).

 

Is there some other way to get email notifications? I'm more familiar with phpBB forum software where, when posting, one can click on "Notify me when a reply is posted."

Default notifications for followed topics is to receive a notification on the forum when new replies are made. You can change it to receive email notifications through your Notification settings in Account Settings. See "Followed Content" section.
