Possible GPU power connections

Working on a build with a 4070 ti, supposedly uses three 6+2p from motherboard and goes to one 12+4p. Is it viable to instead use a PSU with a 12+4p output instead of the regular PCIe cables through the adapter?

Yes.

 

The 3x8pin PCIE to 12+4pin adapter is included because not all PSU have a 12+4pin output connector.

Especially when RTX4000 was just got released.

A slight correction, from PSU. Not motherboard.
