please help

so i built my new pc today and it was going smoothly and everything went in fine nothing was going wrong till i got to the sata cables and i didn't have the right kind of sata cables but i looked into it and it said it should be fine to just plug them into the psu but i did that and when i went to turn on the pc i got my motherboard lighting up and a quick flash of my aio cooler and i just dont see the issue if anyone can help please i have a list of my parts if anyone wants to know the specs but i checked and everyone said the parts are compatible with one another but nothing was said about the motherboard and the sata cables not being good (P.S. this is my first pc build ive done)

Can you post a pic of your SATA cables since you seem to have issues with them?
