Dilemma: I just purchased and installed an Intel i7-13700K into my new system (AIO attached), but I haven't installed Windows yet or done anything except tweaking BIOS settings. I can still return the CPU to Amazon and could have the new Intel i7-14700K in two days for $419 USD + tax (and would need to buy thermal paste to reapply the AIO). Given I don't care about the price difference, is it worthwhile to make this change?

Probably, you get more E cores, higher clock speeds, and theoretically a better memory controller. Might as well get the better chip.

Better is better, might as well before you get everything set up. As Tetras said, flash the BIOS while you have the 13th gen chip though.
