what the heck is going on I have a internet connection working on my Ubuntu server but then it doesn’t show up so I can’t share a folder

What?

 

If you're running Ubuntu Server and want to see the servers files in Windows you can use a service like samba.

it doesnt show up in settings where?

 

also, autodiscovering network shares is exceptionally buggy.. you're still best to map it manually, which if you have windows 11 you'll have to do trough command line, because having a button for that makes too much sense in 2023 apparently.

Imagine for a second that someone is asking you the same question about a windows machine. Would you be able to help them with the information provided..?
