Need help with correct placement of part.

I have a orange lever piece that I'm trying to put In the case of the camera hinge, but when I put it back together, it doesn't switch to the like it should, so I'm not sure if I'm placing it properly and was wondering if someone could help. I also tried using the service manual but it really doesn't make sense to me.
