This issue started about a month ago. When I attempt to shut down my PC, the screen goes black, but all the PC lights remain on, and the fans keep spinning. When this happens, the PC is unresponsive and the only way to turn it off is to hold the power button and press it again to turn it back on. Windows and my graphic drivers are all up to date. I have a 5800x and 6800xt.

Hmm... 🤔

I wonder if it is a windows hibernation problem. I also had an issue with my PC not shutting down properly too.

Perhaps check if anything hibernation related is on in control panel.

Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Power Options\System Settings

Hope this helps in some meaningful way

Did that as well. Is there a setting in my bios I could change, I haven't looked at it since I got it last year. Thanks for the reply.

Ok, fair enough...

I would double check bios settings for C states and power management features... list full specs / look at user manual for your motherboard with options / terminology used?

in my case the main options of interest are ErP and ASPM as well a processor C state options.

Some other stuff to try / do.

run system power report...

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/design/device-experiences/powercfg-command-line-options#option_systempowerreport

I would also start removing attached USB devices one at a time and see if one of them is hanging the shutdown?
