Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): 

^^^ only have a monitor 144 hz rest got fried due to a power surge saving up while i work in sod for a pc i would like a 360 hz monitor when i can 


i got no idea on what is good in pcs i just play games halp plz :c big noob

How long will it take you to save up?  Are you having to wait til Christmas money comes in or will it be before year end?

as im currently working in sod dont make much trying to get into amazon some time this year and get the ball rolling if i had to set a hard timeline i would say about 3 to 4 months if that

For $2000, you can have a top end system.  Do you live near a Microcenter?

 

I would Youtube "$1000 vs $2000 system" and see how games play at what level you want.  There is also a massive time difference in $1000 vs $2000 to save up.

as im a 7th grade dropout working in sod ill leave it at that 

anyway all i  know its a good time away but still want to get a grasp on what i can get / do with 2k

all i know is i want 

a ssd 1-2 tb  fuck hardrives
aio for cpu (idealy gpu and cpu water cooled but im to scared of leaks )
 ddr5 ram no idea what els

water cooling a GPU is somewhat uncommon but it can be done. Those water cooled GPUs be very expensive though.

You’d be better off YouTubing 6700xt ($700 system) 7800xt ($1000 system) vs 7900xtx ($1500 system) and just forget about $2k, ESPECIALLY at 1080p.  Honestly, and of those GPUs are quite good for 1440p, which would easily be doable at those prices.  
 

Frankly if you’re putting in that kind of hourage laying sod I’d keep this thing cheap, I would NOT recommend throwing away months of labor for something so arbitrary when you’re still playing the same games, and you’re fine with 1080p.  Hell, a $500 r5 5500 / rx 5700xt ($120 on eBay right now, insane) system would probably ply all of your games very, very well and you’d likely be none the wiser.  The return on value beyond that in your case would not justify the cost at all, it would still be a gaming PC that can play all of your games (and very well at 1080p).
