GPU upgrade

TheBambeh

Hello!

I am currently looking to upgrade my GPU, mine is an ASUS Cerberus GTX 1070ti from somewhat 5 years ago. I am using Asrock Razer Taichi x570 MB, and I wanted a recommendation from you guys on which GPU should i choose (DUAL FANS ONLY). I prefer RTX 4000 series but I'll consider the 3000s as well. It is mainly for gaming and I want the powerful one or the best-looking one :D, all in for the budget but not too crazy.

Thanks guys

How big is your budget ?

You can't just write "Dual fans only" because then a 4090 founders edition qualifies..

But I assume you are looking for something like a MSI Ventus 2X or ASUS DUAL.

These GPUs would be something I would choose if I was looking for a slightly smaller GPU.

MSI VENTUS 2X and ASUS DUAL is available in most low and mid tier GPUs so if a 4070 is too expensive then look for a 4060 in the same model.

CPU: i9 9900K   Cooler: NH-D15   RAM: Kingston Fury 4 x 8GB 3600MHz CL17   Mobo: ASUS ROG Strix Z390-F   GPU: ASUS 3080 TUF   Case: In Win D-Frame   PSU: Corsair HX850i   Storage: 250GB Samsung 970 EVO NVMe (OS), 500GB Samsung 970 EVO NVMe (Games), 2TB Crucial BX500 SSD (Storage)   Monitor: Samsung Odyssey Neo G9.

Why specifically dual-fans? There are certainly surprisingly powerful GPUs being made with a single fan, or comparatively weak GPUs made with three fans.

Also, "RTX 4000" and "value" are mutually exclusive. Best to go with a used RTX 3000 card. If you're looking for VRAM, the 12GB 3060 seems like a good option, but the 3070/Ti also seem compelling.

The 3060 is not that much of an upgrade.

IMO you should get used 3080 at least or go all the way at least to 4070.... if you absolutely have to get NVIDIA card.

I can't recommend anything with 8GB of VRAM for modern games.

And if you're willing to go AMD then RX 6700 XT at least or go up to RX 6800 XT / RX 7800 XT depending on which one is cheaper.

Sorry, what i mean by dual fan is i don’t have a lot of space in the rig, so i need a little bit tinier than the triple fans one. So like my 1070ti fits perfectly because it has dual fans.

Since I have both the 5900X and 5800X3D and I upgraded from a 5700XT (roughly 1080Ti lvl) to a 6950XT on 1440p 144Hz I can tell you a card in the RTX 4070 to 4070Ti range will sometimes be bottlenecked by the 5800X and I would recommend the RTX 4060Ti 16GB, or the much better options RX 6800, 6800XT or 7800XT.
