Hi, for a few months now I have had weird stuttering doing anything on my pc and it's like I'm getting frame drops just doing things like scrolling down a webpage.

Just wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to fix this or if my gpu is dying.

I have tried reinstalling and updating my drivers as well, I have also even tried a fresh install of windows.

Thanks

(I don't know if this will help but here are my specs:

ryzen 5 5600x

16gb 3200mhz ram

gtx 1660 super)

If the PC has been in use for some time you may wish to take it outside and blow dust out of the fans / gpu ..

Some ideas for you to try

1. Open Taskmgr :: look about for high usage or resources (cpu / gpu / memory) check processes for high useage  :: look at start up apps (taskmgr win 11 // msconfig in other versions)

2. Install system monitoring software such as CPUID and check fans speeds / temperatures of cpu / gpu ..etc (look at voltages for anomalies as well?

3. Go to Guru3d and download DDU (also download most recent graphics drivers)::  Completely uninstall video driver (disconnect from internet)  restart and install the new gpu drivers (connect to internet again).

4. Utilize the Windows System File Checker to look for / repair corrupted files. (instructions below).

I have cleaned out the gpu and it doesn’t look like it is overheating on hwmonitor. I have completely wiped my whole boot drive and reinstalled everything but nothing has fixed it so far

Well... what about in taskmgr // startup programs is there something causing high cpu / memory or gpu use running in background?

Also double check bios settings (CPU / Memory / GPU (resizable bar)..etc is configured correctly (maybe even reset to defaults?)

If it was my computer I would probably clean / reseat everything /reapply thermal paste to cpu cooler  and I would also run the windows memory diagnostic as well as use something like cyrstaldisk info to check SSD / HD /NVMe smart data (or tool provided by the maker of your drive?

After all that you start getting towards swapping parts looking for the issue (power supply / video card / memory /MB or CPU...   which I realize is tough if you don't have spares on hand... but sometimes that can be what it takes.

Which bios version?

This might be the AMD fTPM stutter that was fixed a long time ago.
