So I got my new work laptop that has a 7840U

And the CPU is a damn fine CPU.

 

Win 11 still doesn’t feel as snappy as MacOS on my M1 Mac. But it is a good laptop (even if I would have prefered a AS MBA or MBP over this). 
 

Haven’t done much benchmarking aside from my Excel workbook from hell. It recalculates in about 45 s compared to about 1 m 30 s on my M1 Mac and above 7 m on my old work laptop. 
 

Can’t comment on battery life yet.
 

But at least compared to most non Mac laptops I would say it’s fairly quiet during normal operations. 

 

I got it in a HP EliteBook 845 14” G10 laptop. 
 

I got it only because I demanded a Mac or a laptop with a 6850hs/u or 7840hs/u. (They chose the more expensive option with this over a Mac).
