PC randomly shutting down ?

Hi everyone

for the past week or so my pc has been randomly shutting down like its been unplugged from the wall ( even though its not ) , anyone got any ideas ??

 

PC specs :

AMD phenom ii x4 965

GA-970a-ud3 mobo

EVGA GTX660 SC

8gb XMS3

it might be overheating can you test your cpu with intelburntest and you can use hwmonitor to monitor your cpu temps 

(use high preset and let it run and check the temps using hwmonitor meanwhile)

As has already been stated, the most likely culprits are an overheating CPU or an inadequate power supply unit.

Is your PSU making funky smells?

It could be your power supply,

 

If its not your power supply could be your power board trying plugging PC into different wall socket,

If not that

 

Try a diffrent kettle cord  (power cord for PC)

If not that

 

You could be overloading your PSU? but your specs arnt really to power hungry

If not that

 

Overheating CPU or

Could be your motherboard but i doubt this one but its a possibility

Is that cpu overclocked?

Like others have said, it is possible that it is heating up or that you have a faulty PSU. Try and test your CPU temps.

alpine 650w < really cheap psu (£19 new )

nope stock speed , 3.4 ghz

It's most likely the PSU. Don't ever get a cheap PSU, btw.
