Helllllp! Computer not posting.

So ya, my computer isn't posting, it has had no hardware changes in months and today it has decided to randomly start acting up on me.

I woke up this morning and tried to turn on my computer, fans start, I can here the HDDs spin up, but nothing on the screen, holding the power button is not powering off the system, and the restart button is also being ignored - I literally have to power my computer off at the plug.

I opened the case, made sure everything was seated correctly and try again, everything works! Yay! Guess that was the issue. I play Borderlands 2 for a few hours and then bam, everything goes again, fans still spinning but no game sounds, no video, power/reset buttons not responding - didn't even BSOD, it just went blank.

Symptoms:

 - Fans spin, HDDs power on

 - No sound, no video

 - Power/Reset buttons will not restart system.(power button stills powers ON the system but is then ignored)

 - No error beeps/start up beeps/any beeps at all

 - Keyboard/Mouse backlights do not come on

What I've tried:

 - Reseating video card

 - Reseating RAM

 - Using only one stick of RAM

 - Using only the other stick of RAM

 - Individually using each stick of RAM in previously unused slots

 - Booting with no video card (however I have no onboard video so this was just to try to at least get error beeps - nope)

 - Unplugging all peripherals

What I cannot try:

 - I have no spare video card to swap in

My assumption is the motherboard has had it, but I figured I'd check if anyone else has any ideas before i go buy a new one?

Specs:

AMD 1100t

Asus M4A87TD motherboard

8GB (2x4GB) RAM

XFX 7870 Tahiti

When the system is off, hold the power button and don't let go.. when you see it light up you keep on holding it. Then when it shuts off, you PRESS it again but don't HOLD it.

What it'll do is it will reset your BIOS and apply a backed up BIOS. Make sure you update it after.

Well i'm back from work and i've got the computer working again, I will post back if it dies again (at which point I will just buy a new Motherboard, because fuck it, this board was only meant to serve as a temporary anyway)

EDIT: 69 posts, hurr durr that's a sex thing.
