Fan Configuration Question

Go to solution Solved by CommanderAlex,

Place the 3 Cooler Master MF120 Halo Fans at the front of case for intake and one exhaust out the back, with AIO being in intake blowing up so fans pulling air in from the front.

I’m helping someone with a build and would like some advice on the configuration of the fan layout. For reference:

Ryzen 7 7800X3D

RX 7900 XT

NZXT Kraken 240 AIO

Cooler Master Mesh 300 case

3 Cooler Master MF120 Halo Fans

The current design is to put to MF 120 fans in the front and one in the back with the NZXT AIO on the top. My question is which should intake vs exhaust.

Thanks!

I would be inclined to put the AIO on the front as intake, one fan on the back and 2 on the top (rear) as exhaust. That will give you the best temps in many cases. However, the best way to know is to try.

I've been using computers since around 1978, started learning programming in 1980 on Apple IIs, started learning about hardware in 1990, ran a BBS from 1990-95, built my first Windows PC around 2000, taught myself malware removal starting in 2005 (also learned on Bleeping Computer), learned web dev starting in 2017, and I think I can fill a thimble with all that knowledge. 😉 I'm not an expert, which is why I keep investigating the answers that others give to try and improve my knowledge, so feel free to double-check the advice I give.

My phone's auto-correct is named Otto Rong.🤪😂
