Brands don't really matter.

Corps aren't your friends. "Bottleneck calculators" are BS. Only suckers buy based on brand. It's your PC, do what makes you happy.  If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. Watch this space for further truths people need to hear.

so how to choose the perfect card for me? i heard that XFX are the best AMD cards

No, if anything most people would say Sapphire is the "best" AMD brand. But the reality is that there isn't a best brand. Cards with the same GPU chip inside are going to perform the same within margin of error, unless somebody really borks their cooler design and causes the chip to throttle from overheating. Cards with three fans might be quieter than cards with two. That's about it.

Get the card that is priced right and/or that you like the looks of the best.

XFX, Power Color, Sapphire are usually good, just grab the one that's cheaper

Yeah you probably won't go wrong with any of these three.

ASRock is relatively new to making GPU's and they aren't considered great but there's also nothing wrong with them that I know of. Interestingly they do AMD and Intel cards but not Nvidia.

MSI doesn't even seem like they're bothering to make RX 7000 series cards. Asus has a history of just trying to slap a cooler they designed for Nvidia cards on AMD cards, with less than great results.

Edit: I literally forgot Gigabyte exists.

i'm about to buy a new gpu and i wonder how good are XFX cards, what is the difference between XFX and other brands?

Was just doing this process the other week before ordering my XFX 6900 XT Merc Limited Black.

The route I chose to take is comparing stock clock speeds between each card. XFX on their own didnt have the highest clock speeds, but their Merc line of cards did, with their Limited Black/Black edition Merc cards having even higher clock speeds. Thats how I ended up settling on my card. Looked at a few videos of it to determine if the cooler will be beefy enough for those clocks, and turns out it is!

Overall very happy with my purchase, it sits below 70c with the fan curve set to 35% in games, so super quiet, and boosts to 2.6ghz even when gaming at those temps.

So I would say yes, XFX is good, but stick to their Merc series, as those will have the best coolers, and run the highest clocks.

My first XFX card, since they'd gone exclusive AMD after being an exclusive nVidia AIB, is the card in my main rig, MERC310 RX 7900 XTX. Pretty good card, this coming from a guy who previously buys only Sapphire and PowerColor which are AMD exclusive AIBs since....well, forever. The MERC310 has been doing pretty darn great in my main rig, anxiously awaiting FSR3 to see what it brings to the table to enhance my gaming experience. With AC on and room temp at around 23-24C, I see about 50C+ during, say, DSR, with hotspot at 60C+, so yeah, the cooler on this card is doing a righteous job.

Most of the people who say this are repeating secondhand, thirdhand, etc anecdotes without actually having used an AMD card themselves in years. Just memes, frankly. I have been using an AMD card in my everyday system for over two years now and gaming happily.

I'm coming up on year with my 6900XT and have no issues.

Almost wonder if people who do have issues... they've tweaked things or tried to push things too far, or have 3rd party software doing things.

Just seems odd that perfectly normal systems have so many "issues".

But I do have a buddy that always gets fired "cuz the boss is always the issue".  Hmm.

Just to reiterate, my experience with AMD drivers, from 9700 Pro days to my present RX 6900 XT and RX 7900 XTX have been pretty good. No major issue, a minor issue now and then, but nothing to have cause my rigs to crash. Perhaps optimizations for newer game isn't quite as polished, which would be taken care of after another driver update or two. This far, both my cards are running just fine ...
