iPhone 12 Face ID

Does anyone know how much it would cost to get the truedepth system replaced? My phone no longer works with face ID. I have tried resetting the phone, restarting, and just waiting. It is an iPhone 12 128 GB.

It's not possible.

 

Only apple is allowed to do so since they hardware ID lock this feature to the phone and of course they charge you the price of a new phone for it.

Not entirely true, you *can* repair it yourself using the Apple-sanctioned Self-Repair program.

 

OP, if you want OEM parts, it's about $156 after return credit (see attached image below for full bundle).

Apple Store will charge close to the same amount out-of-warranty. Keep in mind that if you intend to do this as a self-repair, you will need to rent their equipment.

Still does fall into the apple is only allowed to do so part sadly. Everything is borrowed to you by apple
