that PSU may burn out and may take a victim or two. Best to replace ASAP your hearing an extreme case of coil whine from the Caps in the PSU try your best to keep it cool and replace ASAP.

Hello, I recently have been upgrading my PC over the past few months since the pre-built I bought shat itself within a year of owning it. I noticed before I upgraded from a 1070 to a 3050 that my power supply makes a noise like it wants to put out more power but can't. I can't explain what it is doing but it sounds like something out of a horror movie Also when it's under load it stutters at times the noise stops then after it's done having a stroke it resumes making the noise could This be a underpowered PSU? I really need to figure this out before I start this streaming charity event. Thanks.

System specs are as follows:

gigabyte D3SH WIFI

Asus Geforce RTX 3050 SC

Ryzen 5 4500

x2 XPG @3000

x2 XPG @2666

Some 600W POS power supply name that I have never even heard of

Yes

Not English-speaking person, sorry, I'll make mistakes. If you're kind, maybe you'll be able to understand.

If you're really kind, you'll nicely point that out so I will learn more about write in good English.  🙂

I just got the new PSU and went into American Truck Sim because that was the game I was having issues with stuttering on I can see now that my GPU is pulling roughly 120 to 130 watts now. When I had my old one in it was pulling 80 to 100 watts which I think was the cause of the stuttering. I want to personally thank you for helping me fix my issue because if it wasn't for you and if I had waited I could have screwed up my entire system and I would have been back to square one with my upgrades.

glad my experiences helped another best rule of thumb with most upgrading i ever do.

Take the target idea system for my last one i wanted room to grow if i did it so i went with the best 200 ish PSU 1000 watt plat.

i never cheap out on the PSU and whatever budget is left gets used on mobo and cpu together ram and hard drives ,

GPU i do separately if my old one is still fine for the games i play.  All builds Get a New PSU the only caveat being if the PSU is under 3 years old and shows no signs of performance degradation either coil whine or over heat i tend to use therset probes on the PSU on my builds so i can monitor overall heat on just the psu vs the shourd

i tend to upgrade when i have to vs on a cycle so unless this one i won breaks badly it will be my daily for years to come...

my older new build will part swap in if i have to since thats a 10 gen i will make it work anything older will one day be a Jbod Nas.
