Motherboard: gigabyte Ga-z170xp-sli

Ram: 2x8 gigs corsair 2400MHz

Cpu: Intel i5 6600K

Gpu: Nvidia GTX 1070

Power supply: bequiet! E10-CM-600W

It all started when i was playing a game. I was in a discord call with a friend and was streaming my screen. When I opened an internet browser, it took VERY long to actually open. After opening the task manager, I saw that the memory usage was near 80%. Which is weird, because I have 16gigs installed. After checking, I actually had 8 gigs in.

After turning off the computer and replacing both ram sticks, my computer is now stuck in a boot loop, no matter what I do. I've tried putting the sticks in all possible combinations, clean them, clear the cmos, unplugged every hard drive and usb drives, replaced the alimentation cable, but no can do.

Please help

Let's me get it straight: so you had 1 stick of ram (1 dimm out of 4 occupied), then added second stick (now 2 dimms out of 4 occupied).
Then, you pulled both dimms out and put in two new ones?

No, I originally had 2 sticks. After seeing that one of them was not detected, I unplugged and replugged them (on the same slots they were before).

1. Are you sure you have them in the right slots for your motherboard?

2. Have you tried the other slots/configurations?

To answer to both of you, I've tried putting ram in every (possible) slot and I did remove the gpu.

However the computer just turned on when I removed and replaced the cmos battery !

Thanks for trying to help me though.

What exactly do you mean with "boot loop", can you describe exactly what is happening? - LEDs turning on? Fans spinning, what can you see on the screen etc.

Do you have a Mainboard speaker installed?  - the little buzzer, that peeps in a code, when there is an error.. and did you check for that Error code?

Did you clear the cmos?
