Low FPS with 4070ti

fuatburak

Hi,

I built a new pc with suprim x 4070ti. Benchmark looks good but I am not getting the expected fps from the pc. With the Oculus quest2 it is unplayable. With MSFS on the lowest settings it is around 16FPS. There is definitely some thing wrong here. My old PC was 1080ti and it was way better than this. I am suspecting RAM is not good enough. But dont know id RAM can cause this much lagging.

All drivers are up to date.

Can someone please help or suggest some testing to do. I work too much and have little time to enjoy my PC.

Have you connected the monitor to the onboard GPU or the RTX 4070Ti?

Can you run a 3DMark benchmark and report back?

Edit: What's your CPU cooler and how are your temperatures?

I am using Cooler Master MasterLiquid ML240L V2 RGB 240mm.

My CPU temps are not great they are around 80degree while on MSFS 2020.

I will do 3DMark and report back.

Thank you

That is a dx12 benchmark. And the score indicates normal performance.

Can you run a Firestrike test to check dx11?

Both benchmarks show normal performance. There are times when cpu hit 100 degree but I dont know if it is an issue.

I am suspecting MSFS2020 is somehow causing general performance drop on all system. When I start MSFS and close it to play something else the second game also laggy. But when I start the game after PC restart it is normal. I am planing to delete MSFS and reinstall it again.

Please check your AIO, either you have a bad mount or you have the pump and fans not running full speed. Above 70C they should run at full speed. The max permittable temperature on that CPU is 100C. 91C on water is quite high. Also keep in mind that CPU is guzzling watts. You can set a lower power limit in bios to get more stable boost and lower temps at the cost of a few fps.

Thanks I will first check the AIO and limit the CPU.
