I have seen many videos and articles about this, but I want to get down to the bottom of it. By how much does a RAID 0 strip increase speed? Does it combine the speed of each drive? So for example, if I had two 128GB 150 MB/S SSD's, would that give me a 256GB 300 MB/S strip?

Also, I was wondering about RAID 1. Does this RAID decrease speed, or keep it the same? Does this depend on what RPM/Cashe/Data Cable the drives have/are using? Or is the speed alteration [mostly] universal?

Thanks in Advance,

-Shadow

-2x128GB, 150MB/s SSDs in Raid1 will give you 256GB with 150MB/s of speed, itch, because raid1 make the two Discs act like two discs, mirror itch other, sort of

-2x128GB, 150MB/s SSDs in Raid0 will give you 256GB with ~300MB/s of speed as total because Raid0 make the two discs act like one

-Raid1 is slower but a bit safer than 0 because ya see, as i said the discs will act like two discs, so there some sort of Lag in the speed the two communicate than if they where in Raid0, but with Raid0, since the two act like one, if one disc fails, boom, all the data stored on both is gone, i hope i didn't mistake any thing

Raid 1 would give 128GB space... at 150MB/s... Raid one litteraly does nothing for capacity or speed ONLY ONLY ONLY redundancy...
