Serious GPU problem! help mehh!!

Go to solution Solved by LawrenceBarnes2013,

I know my current temps is a serious concern right now...which was why I replaced the thermal paste in the first place but made the temps even worse...I also made sure that I completely placed everything back properly and tightly...

then it's the thermal past, or you didn't clean it properly in the first place, could be

sooo I have this problem where my GPU just maxes out on everything whenever I'm gaming...doesn't matter what game I'm playing it just seems to go full throttle...I even tried it on Halo:CE which is a 2001 game so a GTS 450 should prob not even go more than 50% of what it can do...

think I damaged it? I just recently replaced its thermal paste and made sure that everything was perfectly back in place...

anyways...here's a GPU-z result

It's totally fine, whenever the GPU is called to duty in a 3D Application, it uses all it has to deliver the best performance possible, if limit the FPS than it will work less hard, that's the reason it delivers 100+ FPS in old Games, so it's like this :

-Battlefield4+100% Power = 25FPS

-NFS MW2005+100% Power = 120+FPS

-NFS MW2005+20% Power = 30FPS

you're noticing the Method, your GPU isn't gonna Downclock, or decrease  the Speed it can hit just because the Game is old

But your temps aren't Fine as @vong said, check your thermal past, the way you remounted the hole thing

It's totally fine

His GPU temp is 99C. So, no, it's not fine.

OP - Are you sure you put it back together properly??

i was talking about the load not the Temp, you're right, OP in terms of temps, some thing 's wrong, some thing been done wrong when you replaced the thermal past

Either the thermal past is bad or the fan isn't doing it's job.

I guess you're right...it could be the thermal paste... :/

esp since its the cheapest one you can possibly find... (my dad bought it for less than a dollar in our currency since he's building computers for a school) ohh the irony!!

well fml...decent and branded thermal paste is hard to find from where I live...

also I have the GTS 450 DirectCU silent...sooo its purely a heatsink...no fan at all...should I replace it with a small one from a GT 210? I don't think its a good idea though xD

gaah shoulda thought this through first before calling it a ''serious" problem and making me look like a noob...I guess the pressures of college is starting to get to me... :/
