First Gaming PC- Making sure I have the right parts

Budget (including currency): 1300 USD

Country: United States

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Baldur's Gate 3, Starfield

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

I am looking to get my first gaming PC, and I was looking at pre builts, but then I found Micro Center's custom builder. After doing my own research, I think I have created the right build for me, but I would certainly like some help making sure I haven't overlooked anything.

Build list: https://www.microcenter.com/site/content/custom-pc-builder.aspx?load=26172e06-6dd3-48ea-b5da-6c02054aba71

I would also appreciate any recommendations for a durable and reliable keyboard/mouse combo for under 150 USD.

How about this? Better CPU and GPU

Also paste comes with most coolers.

And you can get a cheaper windows license from something like SCDkey or something

The stock cooler comes with pre-applied thermal paste. Switch up the cpu to the 5600 which runs cooler than the older 5600X and change up on the SSD to the EVO Plus.

Thank you. Any reason in particular to go with the EVO plus instead of the 980 pro? I'm guessing it's the price-to-performance?

Price and that SSD is plenty fast. If you were utilizing Intel Direct Storage then I could see a reason for the 980.

I am confused here. You are talking about intel direct storage, but I am not familiar with intel direct storage on an AMD platform with AMD GPUs. Did you post something that had intel in it?

Intel

?

Its a DirectX feature, what do you mean Intel? Any system with an nvme drive and DX12 Ultimate compatibility (read: 20 series Nvidia or newer) can utilize it. And if you mean iRST (Intel Rapid Storage Technology), those have been irrelevant for a while now considering how most people would rather have full SSD instead of SSD cache + HDD combo.

This is using Micro Center Tustin inventory, your inventories may vary. Those with custom prices are from Micro Center.
