Hi everyone, I'm new here, and technically this is my second PC but the parts on my current(also the first) one was given by my dad. Already have a list of parts my friend recommended but will post here to see what you guys here might have to improve the build. So here's the info you will need:

1. Budget and location:

Location: Malaysia, Budget: 3000 USD max (actually 10000 MYR but due to the conversion rate, I think it'd be safe for me to stick with the 3000 USD cap. Also, this budget does not include monitors and peripherals such as mouse, keyboard, etc., and most of the parts are available locally)

2. Aim: Well I intend to use this mainly for Android development, then would like to play games like Battlefield 4 smoothly on Ultra but was laggy as hell on my current PC even at lowest graphic settings so I gave up. Also play same RTS games, and Minesweeper if that even matters lol. Aside from the aforementioned I will use it for watching anime and web browsing.

3. Monitors: I am not exactly sure, because I can stick with my current Samsung 23-inch 1080p monitor after getting this PC completely built. So what I intend to do is to let you guys recommend what monitors and resolution to get after I've confirmed my build which would also be based on your recommendations.

4. Parts List: The list below is what my friend recommended (http://pcpartpicker.com/user/hooh888/saved/4AS3, estimated price of approximately 2400 USD)

-CPU: Intel Core i7-4930K 3.4GHz 6-Core
-CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Nepton 280L 122.5 CFM Liquid (not sure about this, I think I would prefer the Corsair H110 or NZXT X60)
-Motherboard: Asus Sabertooth X79 ATX LGA2011
-Memory: Kingston 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1866 (16GB should be sufficient and I believe you guys have better recommendations in terms of which brand and model to get)
-Storage: Samsung 840 EVO 250GB 2.5" SSD (might go 500GB instead)
-HDD: Won't be getting a new one soon because I already have a Seagate Barracuda 2TB which I intend to continue using in this new build, and will get another 4TB later on (mainly to store tons of anime)
-GPU: MSI Radeon R9 290X 4GB LIGHTNING (according to my friend this is enough for me to play games at max settings even at 4k, is this true?)
-Case: Corsair 760T Black ATX Full Tower (really unsure about this, as I have few in mind; NZXT Phantom 820, NZXT Switch 180, or Corsair 760T, though I believe you guys will probably recommend something smaller and I might go with it)
-Power Supply: Corsair 760W ATX12V / EPS12V (hope this is sufficient)
-Optical Drive: Lite-On IHBS112-04 Blu-Ray/DVD/CD Writer (yes I do need one of these)
--- My Rig ---
CPU : Intel Core i7 4790K | Motherboard : Asrock Z97 Extreme6 | CPU Cooler : Cooler Master Nepton 280L | RAM : 2x8GB Corsair Vengeance Pro DDR3PSU : Corsair AX860i |

get a cheap secondary storage to store crappy shit on, other than that your build looks good though is the 4930k really needed? Also why not put some money into a full w/c loop.

My Little Gaming Rig:

CPU: FX 8320 | MOBO: Gigabyte 970A-D3P | RAM: G.Skill Ares 2x4GB | GPU: Sapphire Dual-X R9 270X | Storage: Seagate SSHD 1TB | Case: Corsair 200R | PSU: CM 550W V-Series

Upgrades to come: CPU FAN: Corsair H100i | RAM: 2 more 4GB sticks | GPU: Another R9 270X running in crossfire | Storage: Samsung 120GB SSD | PSU: Corsair 800w

Hi, first off, thanks for your suggestion. I forgotten to add that I already have a Seagate Barracuda 2TB which I will continue using in my new build, will edit the main post and add it in. As for the full watercooling loop, I believe I don't have sufficient knowledge to go that far, also I actually plan to focus on the main parts and stick with my current 1080p monitor and an AIO watercooling solution first, then get some monitors, then go into custom watercooling.

Just get a i7-4770k an overclock it thats enough

Hi, that would mean I need to change the motherboard too right? Any good suggestions?

Get a h100i if you can it is a great aio cpu cooler

The H100i uses a 240mm radiator while the 3 I've listed all use 280mm radiators, shouldn't those be better? Or bigger radiators doesn't necessarily mean better cooling performance? Please correct me if I've understood wrongly.

I would like to know what is the theam of your case and no bigger is not always better the h100i will do better than the ones you listed but i would change the fans that come with it to noctua or corsair make sure you get SP for the radiators and AF for the case and get dominator platinums ram if you can.

True but you can monitor the cpu and change the fan speeds of the cpu cooler plus it has a iluminated corsair logo witch will go well with your case.

Thanks for your suggestion, most probably won't be going that low but will keep this as a cost-saving alternative.

Well you do have a point. And yes I like the illuminated logo thing, recommended this to my friend actually and he's using it, though I just found out about the illumination from him few days ago.

sounds good dude upload pics of the build

That will have to wait til I've actually confirmed what I'm getting.  :)

This build will work too I guess, and I actually intend to change the RAM my friend suggested to the Dominator Platinums so it's all good. For the GPU I believe I will stick to the MSI R9 290x Lightning my friend suggested.

But what is your theam is it red or gold or even blue and i would suggest getting some leds for your case so it looks good

Planning a black and blue theme, always my favorite color combination.

Won't be using the Open CL now but might use it in the future. And I've not seen before any GPU that has a black and blue theme so it doesn't have to match perfectly I guess? Haha. Or I will just do some modding for color matching after I get my parts (Changing plates, cable sleeving, etc.).

This is what I have in mind now, let me know what you guys think. (updated with the peripherals and monitor that I'm already using since early this year, and fine-tuned by my friend to fit my black and blue combination lol)

And for the RAMs, I will stick with 16GB for now and might add another 16GB later on if I feel the need to. Same goes for the GPU, might add another one if I need it, hope this is enough for now to play games like BF4 silky smooth on max settings on 1080p or even better, 1440p.

If this is your first build, then I would totally stick with the Corsair 760t.  It will give you tons of room from great cable management, and make your first build a breeze.

I would also upgrade your Power supply... maybe to a Corsair AX 860?  I just don't want to see the power supply holding back this beast of a rig :D

Hi, thanks for your reply. Would like to check with you, will the AX860 be sufficient if I want to add another GPU in the future?

EDIT: Oh and yes, I guess I might stick with the 760T, will get a black one if I'm actually getting it.

Yeah, the AX860 should be plenty for SLI-ing two 290x's.  A little boost from the 760W to the 860W will make a difference later in the system's life.

Also.... I would totally go with the H110 or the H100i.  They are both fantastic coolers.
