Looking to make my own mechanical keyboard, where do i start?

I've gone through 2 "prebuilt" mechanical keyboards and both of them sucked, one's D key didn't work and this current one just sometimes doesn't work. Because the layout i use is very rare i cannot find any more "pre-built" ones, so i thought i'd try to build my own. I have a budget of 150-200 euro (money i'll get from refunding this one), so please link me some videos and information on how to build my own mech. keyboard.

Would recommend watching Taeha Types, plenty of keyboard building on his twitch channel

For kits look at YUNZII. They have a handful of cheaper kits.

Good places to start would be:

In terms of building a keyboard, keep in mind that most layouts you will find are either ANSI (regular US), or ISO but with a limited availability of keycaps. So depending on the region you are in, finding the keycaps might be the tricky part and not the keyboard itself (unless you already have the caps).

Another bit of personal advice: don't go for the fancy and expensive switches, stick with something like the G Pro 2 or other more affordable ones at first. The price differences are much larger than any difference in quality, and the money saved can be invested into either a switch tester package, or a second/third set of switches (to try new things) or nicer keycaps.

I find it really hard to recommend switches without references to other widespread switches, plus you can't really tell what you ultimately like in a switch from a YT video.
