Am I safe?

One of the websites that I visit has been moved to the tor network. I am accessing tor by opening a private tor window in brave browser. I opened the website page but I forgot it and I left it open for a few hours. Is that ok? I normally close the tor private window after a few minutes and I don't leave it open for hours.

 

As I know tor is like a vpn so my ip address is hidden when I use tor so it shouldn't matter that I left tor open for a few hours. Am I correct?

No, Tor is not a VPN, but it functions in similar ways. As Tor is a browser, it only encrypts the traffic going through itself. Meanwhile, a VPN will encrypt your entire device.
