Linus' "Emergency Notification" mode/setting for certain apps

trif55

I remember in a video a while ago when something went down or maybe the channel hack when someone couldn't get through to Linus or SNMP wasn't on loud or something Linus said on WAN show to Luke he wished there was a "blow up my phone" type emergency mode available to users so a certain message agreed with family in a text or an app set to only alert to major network/server outage etc could trigger it

I just missed a dentist because my phone is always on vibrate due to notification bloat and wondered if anyone managed to find a good solution to this?

Thanks

Apple mostly has. The "Focus" feature on newer iOS mostly does this. I can select which apps and people can or cannot trigger notifications, and it can automatically switch between Focus modes based on location, time, or I can keep it manual only. I have mine set up to change my home screen too, so when at work all my work apps are front and center, once I get home it changes back to my personal stuff. Helps a lot with bringing down notification bloat.

Is there something like this on android? since Linus daily drives a z fold 4 and not an iPhone (unless he's doing a review, though they don't really do that anymore on LTT)

Message me on discord (bread8669) for more help

I haven't touched an android device in years, so IDK. Last I had was a Galaxy S6. Some reddit thread suggested this, that may be close: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.samruston.buzzkill&hl=en_US&gl=US&pli=1. No idea what the UX is like tho.
