are you saying that my Ryzen 5 7600 is not good enough for 1080p?

Frame time wise they're inferior to full 8 core especially if you have side applications open. At 1080p, your CPU should be more than needed because that's what really control games consistencies in that resolution thanks to the lessened GPU load.

This is still a pretty woeful build. Thanks for saying that your budget is more like 1300 bucks though, this is something id build instead.

Although, you are in a bit of a crossroad price because for 1400 USD you could get 6800XT or RTX 4070 which would be the first 4000 series nvidia id actually recommend to buy, and kinda max out what 1080p can use in terms of GPU except in cases where the GPU scales to infinity like in Unreal Engine 5 based titles like Fortnite.

Budget (including currency): 1000-1500 US Dollars

Country: USA

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Valorant, Minecraft, Roblox and other future fps games that might need a good computer to run. (I only have a mac)

Other details:

I made a list on pc part picker of the parts I chose. Im not sure what is a good price and what parts are overkill. I need guidance on what I fix to try to lower the cost and still have a decent pc.ScreenShot2023-07-31at14_57_16.thumb.png.abd5829fe32818329686672b7bc489f4.png

For 1080p this would be pretty good, the 6800 smashes the 4060 too.

My First PC
CPU: Ryzen 5 5600x
Cooler: Asus TUF Gaming LC240
Motherboard: Asus ROG Strix B550-f gaming
RAM: 4x8 GB Corsair Vengeance RS (3200 MHz, CL16)
Storage: 1tb Samsung 980 Pro
Graphics Card: Asus Dual RTX 2060 OC
Case: Deepcool Matrexx 50
Power Supply: Corsair RM650x
Headset: Razer Blackshark V2
Keyboard: Corsair K70 Pro Mini (Speed Silver switches)
Mouse: Razer Viper Mini
Only changes I have made is I sold the 2060 for $235 AUD and bought a Powercolor Red Devil 6700 XT for $400 second hand (it was barely used, think I scored a deal on Ebay with that).
I'm learning video editing and trying to get some cash as a high school student.
I like F1, my favourite team is Scuderia Ferrari and favourite driver is Charles Leclerc. Favourite track is Red Bull Ring in Austria.
Playing with a 1080p 60hz monitor right now, hoping to upgrade to a 1440p 144hz one soon.

Living in AU and that pisses me off since every event is late at night or early in the morning (almost every F1 race starts around 11 PM AEST time)

Yeah then that list would probably be the best for you. You could go the used GPU route and you should be able to get a used 7900 XT or XTX for $500 ish which will max out the budget. Are you going to be using RT?

Then go all/most used. Try to get a 13600KF used and a used 3080 or maybe even a 3090. Maybe look for used RAM and maybe even used RAM.

And while 1080p is pretty CPU intensive, id rather take a bit of CPU penalty for GPU.

6950 XT is overkill for 1080p though. The CPU would just end up bottlenecking it.

Budget (including currency): $1000- 1400

Country: USA

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Val, Minecraft, Roblox, COD, various other games

I created a list from other people's recommendations and I want to know if its decent and worthwhile for the money I will be spending on it. I plan on possibly playing large games(cyberpunk 2077) and doing schoolwork along with other stuff. Also, what do you think the appropriate spending amount should be for a first build? I'm not sure but some people have said that my build is too cheap, so I would really like some guidance. Thank you!

Here's my list:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7600 3.8 GHz 6-Core Processor  ($226.99 @ Amazon)
CPU Cooler: Deepcool AG620 BK ARGB 67.88 CFM CPU Cooler  ($47.99 @ Newegg)
Motherboard: MSI PRO B650-P WIFI ATX AM5 Motherboard  ($189.99 @ Amazon)
