Tunnel Bear is great and the developers have a good sense of humor

When you try to un-install, it shows a message that says "I thought we were friends" with a sad bear on it.

didn't work, the confirmation page got blocked

LMAO who is blocking your stuff? Parents blocking shit from the router? NetNanny?

I'm sorry I find this comical. Good luck with your VPN procurement.

You're not missing out on not being able to access Hotspotshield. I tried their paid service. It was horrendously slow, I requested a refund after about 30 mins.

They're a cheap VPN provider, and you get what you pay for at the end of the day. On that note, I don't think there are any 'good' free VPNs, some may be less terrible than others, but that's about it. What do you need one for btw?

Personally I just use OpenVPN and a VPS I rent.

I want a VPN because my laptop is blocked from connecting to servers, my parents don't care (my desktop isn't blocked) and have said they will change it, but haven't.

Free vpns will always make their money back in alternative ways..  if your ok with that, Great!

otherwise they could be harvesting your data, injecting ads etc

There are lots of free VPNs you can use them.. yes they are not secure but as you said only want free VPN so you can try Hotspot Shield, Tunnelbear, GetUKVPN, Unblock-US, CyberGhost, Spotflux etc..

The problem getting a vpn is that the websites are blocked

How are your parents blocking certain pages? Is it on the router level, or windows level, if it's windows then you could just boot off of a ubuntu cd or usb and use any of the webernets that you want... Of if you know the admin password, you can uninstall the program that they use to block the websites...

It is with the router, I made sure I was the admin
