I've been looking for a upgrade for my PC, and right now im looking for second hand and since the grafics cards don't get so beat up in mining as i though im considering buying 1. Now, my question is, how much of a discount makes its worth it? and what other component might be interesting to look for second handed?

It's not about discount, more of like how much you can get with your momey. e,g, right now you can get a used 3080 (4070 performance) at 4060Ti price, that would be a good deal.

Like wise you can get a GTX 970 at 50 bucks, that would be better than any new card you can get that price

as for what you can buy second hand:

CPU (I have got at least 2 second hand CPU, both were fine, CPU are the hardest thing to kill in a PC thanks to lots of protections)

RAM (may ram have life time warranty for a reason)

GPU (target higher end sku, e.g. Asus Strix, Gigabyte Aorus, MSI Gaming Trio. Reason being even if they were mined on, their better cooler then to keep temps in control, so it won't matter.)

maybe motherboard (I have bought 3 second hand motherboards, all are fine. I only got 1 motherboard that isn't working but that have obvious scratches on the back that the seller never taken picture) (However, it's possiable old mother boards may have old capacitors, especially boards that are 7 or more years older than current) \\

Case (If you don't mind potentially missing hardware and need to clean the case)

Avoid buying Second hand

PSU (Most PSU have a safe life span of 10 years, but they can become unreliable after that. Hence most warranties are 3-10 years)

Storge both spinning and SSD (Both storage kind are commodity, meaning they wear down over time) That said, I did buy a SSD (claimed surplus) and a HDD (seller said their company replaced new laptop with SSD), and both were tested with Crystal Disk Info, have reasonable fresh (and in SSD's case 0) on-off and power-on hours

Dude what card is it and what is the price? CPU's are also pretty good to look second hand.

My First PC
CPU: Ryzen 5 5600x
Cooler: Asus TUF Gaming LC240
Motherboard: Asus ROG Strix B550-f gaming
RAM: 4x8 GB Corsair Vengeance RS (3200 MHz, CL16)
Storage: 1tb Samsung 980 Pro
Graphics Card: Asus Dual RTX 2060 OC
Case: Deepcool Matrexx 50
Power Supply: Corsair RM650x
Headset: Razer Blackshark V2
Keyboard: Corsair K70 Pro Mini (Speed Silver switches)
Mouse: Razer Viper Mini
Only changes I have made is I sold the 2060 for $235 AUD and bought a Powercolor Red Devil 6700 XT for $400 second hand (it was barely used, think I scored a deal on Ebay with that).

I love Photography (Using a Canon 60D)

Love F1, my favourite team is Ferrari and my favourite driver is Leclerc

Thank you, i really apreciate the response. Im considering right now a GeForce RTX 3070 Dual OC V2 LHR 8GB GDDR6 for 300€. I was looking for a mid tier build, the motherboard i think i will buy brand new since i may need something especific, but the case and CPU i will look arround for second hand ones. Storage i problably reuse part of what i have now (Samsung 980 1TB NVMe M.2).

I will probably ask for more support in the future, so thanks in advance!
