How would I change Mouse DPI to a number value for a Work Mouse?

Go to solution Solved by Dreckssackblase,

Easiest solution would seems to be setting the mouse to 1600dpi and then changing Windows mouse Sensitivity to level 4/11 which is a 0.5 multiplier. Should give you an effective dpi of 800

Problem:

I have a work mouse with a button for set DPI values: 1000, 1600 & 2400 dpi.

There's no software to install like Logitech would have to adjust these values.

Question:

How would I change the mouse to 800 dpi on Windows 10?

P.S: Windows additional mouse settings has a slider but this does not show specific DPI values.

If there is no accompanying software, you likely cannot. Since you didn't think it was worth listing the mouse model, I can't look up the manual or do some google searching.

This sounds like a bit of an XY problem situation:

Why are you attempting to set a specific DPI on an unknown mouse?

Sounds silly but between my work setup and home setup, I'd like to have a consistent mouse sensitivity of 800 dpi.

The DPI only matters for precision, as another user said lowering the sensitivity should give you equivalent "feel". But you also have to take into account the screen size if you are trying to match two setups.
