Ocerclocking my GPU without 24/7 testing?

Go to solution Solved by TheNinjaNextDor,

I only test for maybe 30min and then just play games. If it doesn't crash in the time I'm heavily playing games it's good enough.

i have a gtx 760 which is awesome gives me about 80 fps at ultra at 1600x900 at bf4 but it dips to 30 in metro wiith the smoke and all
so heres the problem i have the zotac 760 amp which is at 1111mhz and i want to overclock it further but i cant keep my system running for more than 6 hours because of some issues in my home
im asking can i  just test my overclock settings in just 6 hours?
thanks

6 hours should be enough unless you are going for a mega overclock.

Why are you playing at BF4 @ 900p? Use Geforce Experience and optimize that!  Also Metro is a GPU killer so you're not going to get great FPS.

cuz i dont have a 1080p monitor

already using geforce experience

i know but i really hate the lag

Could be CPU bottleneck, what is your CPU?

You don't need 6 hours, just run Unigine Valley for half to one hour is enough imo.

6 hours? In my experience with overclocking GPUs I haven't had to run tests for more than 10 or 15 minutes. Any faults, either artifacting or crashes would usually show up pretty quickly if you're using a proper benchmarking tool.

Myabe I just got lucky.

I can be a cynical a**hole at times. I apologize if I cause any offence at those time. I also occasionally have issues communicating my point. Extreme introversion + Photographic memory + Some other things.

I was using 3DMark. On my old GPU, an Nvidia 9600GT, any problems would start to show during the Could Gate benchmark. I would either get wicked artifacting, or the benchmark would outright crash. Being as it was a DX10 card I couldn't do the Fire Strike Benchmark.

Heaven 4.0 2 hours.

3DMark Vantage.

3D Mark 11

Game of your choice.

Experience and proof: GTX 480 OC'd far passed stock.

920mhz was stable only in certain games, but really this was it's max stable clock for all:

Just play games after overclocking it. After all it's the games that you will be using on a daily basis. If all of your games runs smoothly with no crashes or erros, that OC is stable :)
